Inbox notifications

With Live agent and when you are Online, you receive a notification as soon as a visitor is waiting for you: "Een bezoeker wacht op u." (A visitor is waiting for you.) The notification never contains what the visitor writes. Miss a notification? Then after the waiting time the visitor automatically gets the form. If the visitor leaves a message, it arrives in your inbox.

The inbox is in Dutch. Below, each button is named as you see it in the inbox, with a translation in brackets.

iPhone and iPad

On an iPhone or iPad, notifications only work when the inbox is on your home screen, from iOS 16.4 onwards.

  1. Open your inbox in Safari, at the address you received from us (it ends in /inbox).
  2. Tap the share button (the square with the arrow pointing up). On an iPhone it is at the bottom or behind the three dots, on an iPad at the top.
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen and tap Add.
  4. From now on, open the inbox with the new icon on your home screen and log in.
  5. Open Instellingen (Settings, the gear icon at the top of the inbox), tap Meldingen aanzetten (Turn on notifications) and choose Allow.
  6. Tap Stuur een testmelding (Send a test notification). Within a few seconds you will see it.
  7. Set yourself to Online at the top of the inbox. Only then do you receive notifications.

No notification? Open Settings on your iPhone, then Notifications, and check that notifications are on for the inbox.

Android

  1. Open your inbox in Chrome and log in.
  2. Open Instellingen (Settings, the gear icon at the top of the inbox), tap Meldingen aanzetten (Turn on notifications) and choose Allow.
  3. Tap Stuur een testmelding (Send a test notification).
  4. Set yourself to Online at the top of the inbox. Only then do you receive notifications.

Handy but not required: in the Chrome menu (the three dots), choose Add to Home screen.

Computer

  1. Open your inbox in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari and log in.
  2. Open Instellingen (Settings, the gear icon at the top of the inbox), click Meldingen aanzetten (Turn on notifications) and choose Allow.
  3. Click Stuur een testmelding (Send a test notification).
  4. Set yourself to Online at the top of the inbox. Only then do you receive notifications.

Your browser needs to be running to receive notifications.

Online and Offline

With notifications on, you stay Online until you set yourself to Offline or log out, even when the inbox is closed or your phone is locked. So set yourself to Offline when you are no longer available. If you open the inbox again after a few hours, it asks whether you are still available.

Without notifications, Online switches off by itself a quarter of an hour after the inbox closes.

Under Instellingen (Settings) you can see how many staff members can be Online at the same time. If you cannot switch to Online, the inbox tells you who is Online right now.

Do the settings say that notifications have not been set up on this server yet? Email info@chatunda.com, we are happy to help.

Something not right any more? Platforms sometimes move their buttons. If a step no longer matches what you see, email info@chatunda.com with the name of the guide and the step. We will help you right away and update the guide.
